Job Summary
Conduct daily rounds of Assisted Living and retirement residents, observe and report symptoms to the Director of Wellness, and administer medications per physician orders. Supervise Home Health Aides and nursing staff to ensure quality care, maintain cleanliness of the nurse's station and medication room, and perform admission and discharge evaluations as needed. Complete documentation for vital signs, weights, and medication administration while checking equipment condition and ordering supplies. Administer emergency first aid and provide guidance to nursing assistants throughout the facility. Work the 11p-7a shift in a resort-style community offering Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program
- Currently licensed to practice per state
- Work experience in the geriatric field
- Ability to communicate well and in writing
- Ability to deal with visitors, staff and residents in a courteous manner
- Ability to lift, push, pull up to 60lbs
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure at times
- Good grooming practices, personal hygiene, punctuality and regular attendance
- Warm, friendly, congenial personality
- Professional appearance
- Empathetic attitude towards seniors
- Ability to assess a resident's condition and intervene when needed
- CPR certified, or obtained within 90 days of hire and yearly thereafter
