Job Summary
Determine donor eligibility through informed consent, medical history interviews, and physical examinations while managing adverse events and reviewing laboratory test results. Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs, coordinate emergency transport, and support employee vaccination programs. Maintain environmental, health, and safety compliance and act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized. Report unacceptable findings to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance. Work 2nd shift with rotating weekends at a BioLife Plasma Center in Fort Wayne, IN.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
- Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
- 2nd shift and Rotating Weekends
