Job Summary
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the 2E Respiratory Long Term Vent unit providing professional practical nursing services, independent nursing tasks, administration of prescribed treatments, and collaboration with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and discharge. Requires CLPNM registration, IV Therapy/IV Medication Administration certification, CPR training, and ability to work rotating days/nights in-person in Winnipeg. Emphasis on adherence to professional standards, ethics, and legislative acts, with strong emphasis on communication, critical thinking, delegation, and adaptability in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing Education program
- Certification in IV Therapy; IV Medication Administration
- Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM)
- CPR Training requirements per employer policy
- Proficient with computers and standard software
- Ability to work rotating shifts and weekends
- Experience in clinical area preferred
- Indigenous language knowledge or Indigenous customs knowledge preferred
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize and delegate care
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
- Ability to adapt to changing situations
