Job Summary
Deliver safe, ethical, and evidence-based nursing care to incarcerated patients with complex medical conditions while working under the direction of Registered Nurses and medical staff. Monitor patient conditions, report changes appropriately, and maintain accurate clinical documentation. Utilize clinical skills for tracheostomy care, enteral feeding, wound care, and chronic disease management. Follow established safety, security, and infection control protocols, and collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare, mental health, and custody teams. Provide 12-hour rotating day shifts (7am–7:30pm) with weekend coverage required.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in behavioral health, correctional, or ER
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license | Compact (MSL) or Georgia (SL) | Must be active and valid
- Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or BLS | Must be active
- Ability to obtain security clearance via the GADOC, this may include drug screen and criminal background check
- Weekend Coverage: Rotating Weekends Required
- 12-Hour Rotating Shifts (Days) 7am-7:30pm
