Licensed Practical Nurse

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) sought to provide skilled nursing care in Specialty and Primary Care Clinics at Ralph H. Johnson VAMC and surrounding Community-Based Outpatient Clinics. Responsibilities include administering oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous medications as permitted by local policies; observing and documenting patient responses; collaborating with the nursing team and other professionals; monitoring vital signs; assisting with activities of daily living; maintaining a safe, clean patient environment; developing and implementing patient care plans; educating patients and families on health management and disease prevention; performing wound care and assisting with minor surgical procedures; maintaining accurate records; responding to patient calls; participating in training and continuing education; and other duties as needed. Requires NCLEX-PN pass, active LPN licensure, BLS, and at least 2 years in long-term care. This position is contingent upon contract award and involves work in inpatient/outpatient settings within VA facilities, with potential for travel as needed.
