Job Summary
Prepare clinic equipment, welcome patients, and initiate hemodialysis treatments under licensed professional nurse supervision. Monitor treatment parameters, perform cannulations, and conduct focused pre- and post-dialysis observations while checking water quality and flushing catheters as needed. Discontinue treatments per guidelines, administer medications, document activities on flow sheets, and clean stations between patients. Manage functional areas such as access or transplant care, participate in CQI projects and staff meetings, and perform emergency evacuation procedures. Maintain infection control standards, collect lab specimens, and reinforce education with patients. Work three 12-hour days with no on-call, no overnight shifts, and no major holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Graduate of accredited LPN/LVN school
- Current (active), valid State license
- Certified in IV Therapy
- Demonstrated record of and commitment to safety
- Dedication to excellence
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with other staff members, patients and physicians
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Computer skills including data entry, navigation around software and basic troubleshooting skills
