Job Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long term care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. Demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles for the resident in the clinical setting and participates in care planning, including medication administration, documentation of resident interactions and outcomes, and collaboration with health care professionals to support resident safety and well-being. Requires graduation from an accredited practical nursing program with an active LPN license; associates degree in practical nursing is preferred. This PRN/part-time role emphasizes resident assessment, education, and adherence to age/population-specific standards within a Christian, not-for-profit housing environment; duties include testing to evaluate resident status, administering medications or treatments as ordered, counseling residents and families, maintaining competency through required CEUs, and contributing to an interdisciplinary care team to promote residents’ health, comfort, and safety.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license from state nursing board
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as an LPN
- Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred
- Current continuing education and competency requirements per facility policy
- Ability to perform testing and administer medications as ordered
- Experience with documentation of resident care
- Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team
- IV therapy/management skills (if required per ND state rules)
