Job Summary
Provide patient- and family-centered care in a secure correctional healthcare environment under the direction of a registered nurse. Perform nursing care for inmates/detainees, conduct medical intake screenings, and respond to medical emergencies inside the secure perimeter. Assist medical staff with examinations, procedures, and vital signs while maintaining control of sharps, medications, and equipment per safety standards. Work night/12-hour shifts (6:00pm–6:00am) with 40 weekly hours, ensuring safe movement of inmates and adhering to facility rules. Maintain required professionalism and boundaries throughout all interactions.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited Practical Nurse program
- Licensed as an LPN in South Carolina or a compact state
- A current CPR card (AHA BLS or Red Cross Professional Rescuer)
