Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care to assigned residents under the supervision of the Director of Resident Care, ensuring quality and safe delivery of health services. Implement physician and DRC-formulated plans of care, administer medications per orders, and document all activities accurately on the MAR. Assess residents and families for diagnostic information, prepare incident reports, and maintain resident charts and records. Recognize emergencies, initiate appropriate actions, and uphold resident confidentiality while promoting a safe working environment. Requires state registration, one year of nursing experience, and ability to work in a safe, alert manner.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from an accredited program for LPN/LVN and is currently registered in the state of the community
- Must obtain valid Continuing Education credits as required by the state of the community
- Training in Alzheimer and Dementia with focus on Validation Therapy
- Minimum of one (1) year nursing experience in a health care facility
- Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, associates, residents, family members, and outside contacts
- Able to make independent decisions
- Able to seek out new methods and willing to incorporate them into existing practices when applicable
- Must possess a passion to work with and around senior citizens
- Level 2 background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a long term care community and/or geriatric nursing facility preferred
- Experience in emergency care and first-aid
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook software preferred
