Job Summary
Oversee health and safety needs of preschool students, ensuring all health requirements are addressed and adhered to. Review immunization records for regulatory compliance, administer medications and nursing procedures, and instruct staff on infection control. Assist in developing Individualized Health Plans for children with significant medical needs and supervise emergency evacuations. Administer first aid, conduct vision and hearing screenings, and facilitate referrals to community resources. Maintain confidential medical files, file incident reports, and provide health and safety orientation to new employees. Participate in interdisciplinary teams and the Health and Safety Committee while adhering to agency policies. Full-time, 10-month plus summer program position with evening or weekend duties as needed.
Required Qualifications
- New York State Licensed Practical Nurse
- One to two years of clinical experience
- Valid NYS driver's license
Desired Qualifications
- Certified in CPR and First Aid, certification as an instructor preferred
- Certified in CPR and First Aid
- Certification as an instructor
- Knowledge of various learning modalities to facilitate training options for staff
- Successful completion of instructor courses for CPR, SCIP and CQL trainer
- Experience with young children with disabilities
