Job Summary
Provide in-home nursing care to retired Nuclear and Federal Workers, including IV therapy, wound care, and assistance with activities of daily living. Monitor patient reactions, record vital signs, and educate families on disease processes and home care procedures. Transport patients to appointments and manage light housekeeping and meal preparation while adhering to HIPAA and infection control policies. Work under the supervision of a registered nurse, documenting skilled visits accurately by the end of each shift. Coordinate patient care services to ensure optimal outcomes across diverse home environments.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from an accredited school of professional nursing
- Current North Carolina LPN License
- Current BLS Certificate
- Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, to enable the employee to communicate effectively
- Sufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodation, to enable the employee to review a wide variety of materials in electronic or hard copy form
- Sufficient manual dexterity, with or without reasonable accommodation, to enable the employee to operate a personal computer, telephone, and other related equipment
- Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodation, to enable the employee to safely lift, move, or maneuver whatever may be necessary to successfully perform the duties of their position
- Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodation, to enable the employee to efficiently function in a home setting
- Able to lift 50 pounds
