Job Summary
Provide practical nursing care to geriatric veterans under RN and physician supervision across the VA Palo Alto Health Care System. Initial assignment at Menlo Park with possible rotation to Palo Alto main campus and other VAPAHCS locations. Duties include performing basic patient assessments and vital signs, administering medications and treatments, assisting with activities of daily living, wound care and specimen collection, documenting in the VA electronic medical record, supporting infection control and safety standards. Schedule includes day, evening, or rotating shifts, Monday through Friday with possible weekends; federal holidays observed. On-site, full-time contract position with multi-year potential and extensions.
Required Qualifications
- Active LPN or LVN license in any US state
- BLS required
- Minimum 1 year recent long-term care, rehab, or acute care experience
- Ability to pass VA background and credentialing
