Licensed Practical Nurse - General Surgery

Conduct patient care in the clinic setting under RN or provider direction, including rooming patients, monitoring vital signs, administering medications and immunizations, and assisting with office-based surgical procedures. Perform pre-visit planning for preventive and problem-focused visits, input data into the Cerner EMR, and contact patients regarding lab results and medication orders. Coordinate care for patients referred to specialty care, schedule procedures and appointments, and manage physician schedules in the clinic or operating room. Ensure nursing supplies and medications are properly ordered and available while following infection control policies. Act as a mentor for nursing students and support CSI work activities.
