Job Summary
Provide direct patient care under the direction of an RN on the General Surgical Unit, supporting pre- and post-surgical patients across general, colorectal, plastics and breast, bariatrics, urology, ENT, and neurosurgery. Responsibilities include applying the nursing process, collaborating with physicians and the multidisciplinary team, administering medications, documenting nursing care, ensuring stocked clinical areas, and supervising assigned team members. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are highly desired, with emphasis on compassionate patient and family support and adherence to departmental protocols and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Practical Nursing or equivalent
- Current licensure in State of New York as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
