Job Summary
Escort patients into examination rooms, initiate chart documentation, and maintain timely patient flow according to the day's schedule. Provide patient education, execute prescribed medical regimens including tests and treatments, and complete electronic health record entries with appropriate charges. Maintain suite supplies and cleaning after each encounter while following up on provider orders for labs and referrals. Participate in quality improvement, workshops, and peer review as requested by management. Engage in Patient Centered Medical Home initiatives as part of the Clinical Care Team under the direction of a registered professional nurse or licensed provider.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a certified nursing program
- New York State license to practice practical nursing
- Willingness to accept direction from providers and supervisors
- Ability to work well and with compassion in stressful situation
- Professional and courteous demeanor with both patients and co-workers
- Keen awareness of the importance of confidentiality in all aspects of the position
