Job Summary

Administer prescribed medications with 100% accuracy, count controlled substances, and ensure cart security while providing hands-on care for residents and assisting with activities of daily living. Supervise non-licensed nursing staff, conduct performance evaluations, and address complaints or resolve problems. Manage shift priorities, meet with oncoming and departing nurses to discuss resident conditions, and respond promptly to resident requests, family calls, and visitors. Complete required forms, logs, and progress notes, investigate incident reports, and adhere to ALF regulations and HIPAA standards. Maintain a safe, clean environment, practice proper body mechanics, and take initiative on special projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid state specific nursing license
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • one to two years related experience and/or training
  • equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • knowledge of word processing software

  • Understanding and compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Understanding and adherence to ALF regulations pertaining to assisted living health care laws
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
