Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients. Coordinate patient care with other departments and uphold patient rights and confidentiality of information. Obtain and maintain a current LPN license within the hiring state, meeting all State Board of Nursing requirements. This full-time night shift position at Mercy South requires the ability to push, pull, lift 50 lbs, and perform prolonged standing and walking. Physical duties include gripping, reaching, bending, kneeling, twisting, and squatting. Candidates must possess a graduate degree from an accredited practical nursing program. ACLS, PALS, PEARS, S.T.A.B.L.E., BLS, and LPN-IV certifications may be required based on the unit.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current LPN license within the hiring state
- Meeting all State Board of Nursing requirements
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Ability to stand and walk during each shift
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
Desired Qualifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
- S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) Six Assessment & Care Modules
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- LPN-IV Certification (must be previously completed or successful completion of course within 3 months of hire for LPNs in Missouri)
- Other unit-specific certifications as required
