Job Summary
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to assist in directing nursing services on the unit under RN supervision, delegating duties to professional and non-professional nursing personnel, and monitoring work performance. Observes patients for signs of adverse change, notifies attending physician of emergencies, and implements changes in orders as instructed by physicians. Requires NC Board of Nursing licensure, CPR certification, and willingness to serve as charge nurse and provide coverage during emergencies. Also engages in in-service training and attends staff meetings; geriatric nursing care emphasized.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate
- Licensed Practical Nurse, graduated from an accredited School of Nursing
- Current, valid license from the North Carolina Board of Nursing
- Willing to work as charge nurses, and work as needed during emergencies to assure adequate coverage
- CPR certified yearly
- Attend in-service training and other staff meetings as required
