Job Summary
Greet patients in the waiting area, manage patient flow, and escort patients to discharge. Obtain patient histories, assess and triage, measure vital signs, and record information on charts. Prepare exam rooms, position instruments, and administer injections, medications, and wound care per provider orders. Perform diagnostic tests including ECGs, pulse oximetry, and CLIA-waived lab tests. Collect, label, and process specimens for send-out while monitoring inventory and ordering supplies. Complete medical charts, schedule follow-up appointments, and perform basic x-rays or assist radiology technicians. Ensure equipment is sterilized and functioning properly. This safety-sensitive role requires BLS certification and two years of experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must obtain and maintain a current certification in BLS
- Ability to see with corrective eyewear
- Must be able to hear clearly with assistance
- Able to handle emergency or crisis situations
- Will be required to wear protective equipment as necessary
- Ability to lift 15-20 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistant
- MA course completion certification
- 2 years of Medical Assistant experience
- PC skills or applicable computer experience
- Ability to accurately read and write medical terminology
- Ability to work all shifts
- Ability to escort or transport patient by wheelchair or stretcher
- Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills
