Job Summary
Provide patient care in the Emergency Department under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse, utilizing the nursing process to maintain professional accountability. Coordinate care across departments while ensuring patient rights and confidentiality. Perform duties including standing, walking, bending, and lifting patients up to 50 pounds as part of the physical demands of the role. Work full-time days, mids, or nights shifts. This Level 1 Trauma and Stroke center serves as the regional Burn Center for Missouri, Arkansas, and Oklahoma, caring for approximately 72,000 patients annually. The team includes Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physicians and offers a dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department with 11 beds.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current LPN license within the hiring state
- Meeting all State Board of Nursing requirements
- Hospital-based experience
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- LPN-IV Certification previously completed or successful completion of course within 3 months of hire for LPNs in Missouri
- Ability to stand/walk most of the time on duty
- Ability to perform significant amount of bending and stooping
- Ability to lift and turn patients with assistance
- Ability to push/pull/grip up to 50 pounds
- Must be available for Days/Mids/Nights shifts
