Job Summary
Administer vaccines, perform clinical procedures like PFTs and EKGs, and obtain patient specimens as directed by providers. Document verbal conversations and enter information into patient records accurately and timely. Maintain patient flow, process prescriptions, and discuss test results per provider instructions. Obtain and record urine and blood specimens. Ensure accurate, timely order entry into the lab system. Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion regarding patient data. Maintain knowledge of infection control policies and protocols. This role includes a 30-hour week with Monday-Friday evening shifts and rotating weekend hours. Candidates must hold a valid NYS LPN license with prior experience in a medical practice or as a Medical Assistant.
Required Qualifications
- Valid NYS LPN license
- Previous LPN experience in a medical practice
- Prior experience as a Medical Assistant
- Prior experience as a Patient Care Tech
- Strong computer skills with experience using EMR
- Knowledge of basic nursing principles and protocols
- Knowledge of policies and procedures related to infection control
- Knowledge of policies and procedures related to environmental safety
- Knowledge of policies and procedures related to patient confidentiality
- Knowledge of medical chart reporting/records
- Skill in appropriate assessment and assistance techniques
- Monday-Friday 4:30pm-12:00am schedule
- Every other weekend rotation of 10:00am-8:00pm
