Job Summary
Administer vaccines, obtain specimens, and perform clinical office procedures such as EKGs and medication administration as directed by the provider. Document verbal conversations and patient information accurately into records while maintaining timely patient flow and processing prescriptions. Discuss test results with patients per provider instructions and ensure accurate order entry into the lab system. This role requires a valid NYS LPN license and experience in a medical practice or as a Medical Assistant. The position offers a 30-hour week with Monday-Friday evening/night shifts and weekend rotations, including a potential $3,500 recruitment and retention bonus.
Required Qualifications
- Valid NYS LPN license
- Previous LPN experience in a medical practice
- Prior experience as a Medical Assistant
- Prior experience as a Patient Care Tech
- Strong computer skills with experience using EMR
- Knowledge of basic nursing principles and protocols
- Knowledge of policies and procedures related to infection control
- Knowledge of policies and procedures related to environmental safety
- Knowledge of policies and procedures related to patient confidentiality
- Knowledge of medical chart reporting/records
- Skill in appropriate assessment and assistance techniques
