Job Summary
Perform patient intake by observing symptoms, collecting medical history, and documenting vital signs in the electronic medical record. Provide direct patient care including administering medications via oral, inhalation, or injection routes, applying bandages, cleaning wounds, and assisting with medical procedures. Conduct diagnostic testing such as EKGs and basic lab tests while ensuring proper sample collection and documentation. Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medication management, and preventative care using provider-approved materials. Collaborate with healthcare providers to support patient care plans and maintain a clean, sanitized clinic environment adhering to infection control protocols. Monitor daily logs for narcotics, refrigerator temperatures, and vaccine expiration dates. Respond to portal messages, phone calls, and test results to ensure timely patient follow-up. Maintain regular attendance and comply with all clinic policies and standards.
Required Qualifications
- 0-2 years experience in a clinical or outpatient setting
- LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure
- LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse
- BCLS - Basic Life Support obtained from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- Authorization to work in the U.S. for any employer
- Proficiency in direct patient care, including medication administration and diagnostic testing
- Knowledge of electronic medical record systems for accurate and timely documentation
- Understanding of infection control protocols and clinic safety standards
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address patient care challenges effectively
- Time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Empathy, compassion, and professionalism in patient interactions
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers
