Licensed Practical Nurse Charge

Evaluate and direct nursing care for residents on the assigned unit by initiating care plans, assigning staff based on needs and competency, and making rounds to observe effectiveness. Provide continuity of care across all three shifts while reviewing physician orders daily, documenting observations in medical records, and participating in resident teaching and care conferences. Supervise direct care personnel, counsel staff, and maintain a clean, functional environment with strict adherence to infection control and medication policies. Ensure emergency equipment is checked weekly and report concerns to the Nurse Care Coordinator or DON. Complete quarterly nursing summaries and participate in quality assurance activities, in-service programs, and orientation training. Maintain confidentiality of resident information and assist in other duties as needed to maintain acceptable staffing levels.
