Job Summary
Casual Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position at Covenant Care in St. Albert, AB. Responsibilities include managing day-to-day resident care in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, providing support to residents and families, and upholding Covenant Care’s mission, vision, and values. Requires graduation from an approved Practical Nurse program, current CLPNA registration, CPR/First Aid certification, and a commitment to mandatory vaccination and background checks. French language ability is an asset; dementia education is an asset. Flexible shifts (days/evenings) with in-person work. Strong assessment, communication, and multitasking skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved Practical Nurse Program
- Current registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA)
- Current CPR / First Aid Certification / Equivalency
- Ability to speak French an asset
- Dementia education an asset
- Strong critical assessment skills
- Exhibits open and sincere approach to relating to people by demonstrating respect and compassion for everyone equally
- Recognizes and responds effectively to verbal and non-verbal cues with exceptional active listening skills
- Ability and knowledge to work in a continuing care setting and the ability to deal with difficult behaviors
- Ability to cope with frequent changes such as daily routine, workload, shifts and resident needs and possess exceptional multi-tasking and time management skills
- This position requires you to be vaccinated against all required communicable diseases under Covenant Care’s OHS policy
