Job Summary
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides licensed nursing care under supervision of RN Unit Manager or DON, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating residents/patients plans of care. Performs duties per the State Nurse Practice Act; manages the environment for resident safety; supervises nursing assistants; applies policies and procedures; and utilizes equipment such as feeding pumps and oxygen. Requires active LPN license in the state and CPR certification. Strong communication, basic computer skills, ability to calculate drug dosages, and positive interaction with residents and staff are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed in the State as an LPN
- Must have and maintain current CPR certification
- Able to use necessary supplies and equipment (feeding pumps, oxygen, treatment trays, medication cart, etc.)
- Able to calculate drug dosage
- Meets all health requirements imposed by law
- Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other center staff
- Able to read, write, speak and understand English. Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications
