Job Summary
Direct patients to exam rooms, prepare them for procedures, and document vitals, histories, and medication lists. Administer prescribed injections, record treatments, and route patients for ancillary testing or follow-up appointments. Assist surgeons with operative procedures, prepare surgical trays, and maintain sterile fields while ensuring proper supplies and infection control measures. Manage clerical functions, answer telephones, and coordinate insurance referrals. Maintain order in exam and procedure rooms, perform dressing changes, and assess signs of infection.
Required Qualifications
- LPN licensed in the state of practice
- Basic knowledge of medications (side effects/contraindications, etc.)
- Be able to read and review pathology results with patients
- Knowledge and proficiency of dressing changes and suture removal
- Assess signs and symptoms of infection and reporting to surgeon and/or provider
- Hepatitis checks and protocol to protect surgeon, patient, and nurse
- Proficient with autoclave sterilization process
- Must train and maintain proficiency in the use of computer equipment and other computer program training as requested
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- One‐year experience in healthcare field preferred but not required
