Job Summary
Monitor and document patient status including vital signs, drains, dressings, and lab values while administering medications per policy. Collect and document data using specialized equipment such as glucometers and pulse oximetry under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Physician. Provide patient and family instruction regarding room and unit routines, ensuring accurate maintenance of confidential medical records. Informs appropriate staff of patient observations, responses, and changes in status. Performs additional patient care functions as assigned within the Neuroscience Med-Surg unit.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an LPN program recognized by the State Board of Nursing
- One (1) year experience as an LPN
- Successful completion of the Prisma Health Nurse Residency Program
- Successful completion of a comparable residency program from another organization
- Program equivalency recognized by the State Board of Nursing
- Candidates enrolled in an accredited LPN to RN transition program
- Holds a current LPN compact/multistate license recognized by the NCSBN Compact State
- Licensed to practice as an LPN in the state the team member is working
