Job Summary
Provide nursing care for patients in the Neuroscience Med/Surg unit under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Physician. Monitor and document patient status, including vital signs, drains, dressings, and lab values, while administering medications per policy. Collect and document data using specialized equipment such as glucometers and pulse oximetry. Educate patients and families on room and unit routines. Maintain accurate medical records and ensure confidentiality. Report observations, patient responses, and changes in status to the supervising RN or physician. Work night shifts at Blount Memorial Hospital.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an LPN program recognized by the State Board of Nursing
- One (1) year experience as an LPN
- Successful completion of the Prisma Health Nurse Residency Program
- Successful completion of a comparable residency program from another organization
- Program equivalency recognized by the State Board of Nursing
- Candidates enrolled in an accredited LPN to RN transition program
- Holds a current LPN compact/multistate license recognized by the NCSBN Compact State
- Is licensed to practice as an LPN in the state the team member is working
