Job Summary
Provides clinical nursing support to Bone and Joint Institute of Tennessee by communicating clinical information to patients and businesses, scheduling tests and consultations, obtaining clinical specimens, assessing patients, performing clinical office procedures and maintaining adequate clinical supplies. Responsibilities include giving immunizations and injections, triaging phone calls, coordinating referrals to other medical services, obtaining prior authorization for medications and diagnostic testing, assisting physicians with med/surg procedures, observing universal precautions, maintaining office lab quality, coordinating with pharmacies to ensure patients have adequate supplies of medicine, recording medical history and vital signs, counseling patients on health-related issues, and ensuring proper inventory of clinical supplies.
Required Qualifications
- Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university
- Licensed by the State of Tennessee
- One year of experience in medical office environment
- Competent in the use Glucometer, BP cuff, thermometer, computer, stethoscope, audio scope, business phone and various oral and injectable medications
