Job Summary
Perform basic nursing care, patient procedures, and diagnostic/therapeutic treatments under RN guidance. Administer oral, IV, IM, and other approved medications; insert N/G tubes and provide tube feedings. Monitor vital signs, collect specimens, and maintain accurate intake/output records. Assist with patient hygiene, examinations, and post-operative care while responding to code teams and emergencies. Provide health education, participate in committees, and ensure patient safety and equipment maintenance.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing
- Current licensure in the state of practice
- Successful completion of the I.V. Therapy Course
- Six (6) months to one (1) year of on-the-job training
- Technical skills in special nursing fields preferred
- Ability to provide safe and effective patient care in accordance with nursing standards and scope of practice
- Ability to perform nursing procedures and treatments accurately
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
