Job Summary
Deliver patient care under the supervision of an Ambulatory RN or licensed provider while managing patient flow to ensure efficient physician time and minimize wait times. Perform operational and quality/risk management duties according to regulations, utilizing independent judgment to interpret policies and apply medical terminology and medication knowledge. Develop effective relationships with staff, providers, patients, and external customers, maintaining HIPAA and CVPH confidentiality policies. Utilize available business technology and Microsoft Word for assigned duties, with proficiency in electronic medical records systems preferred. Work a standard 40-hour day shift from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with biweekly scheduled hours of 80 and potential secondary shift coverage.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- Currently licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in New York
- Understanding and commitment to CVPH core values of teamwork, commitment, confidentiality and quality care
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Above average spelling and memory skills
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and medications
- Ability to make appropriate decisions with a minimum amount of supervisory direction
- Experience in use of personal computers
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Word
Desired Qualifications
- Medical office experience
- Knowledge of medical practice management and/or electronic medical records systems
