Licensed Practical Nurse - Alberta (West)

Job Summary
Assess individual residents' needs, organize care plans, and distribute medications in accordance with approved standards. Provide direct resident care, answer emergency calls, and supervise attendants while maintaining accurate records of observations and procedures. Ensure infection control compliance, recognize safety hazards, and assist with housekeeping, laundry, and meal service duties. Act as a team leader to develop staff, monitor intervention outcomes, and advocate for residents' rights. Report incidents and status changes to supervisors, complete mandatory training, and comply with all occupational health and safety legislation.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of grade 12 education
- Recognized nursing license (LPN licensing) in good standing with College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA)
- Emergency First Aid certification
- CPR certification
- AED certification
- Proficient computer skills (i.e. Word and Excel)
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, in the English language
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Dependable, responsible and an ability to work well with others in a team environment and independently
- Positive attitude necessary to meet the goals and standards of the residence
- Resident-oriented individual, whose visions and values align with those of the residence
- Excellent leadership skills

Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience working as an LPN in a health care setting
