Job Summary
Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and perform dialysis procedures under supervision while maintaining strict infection control and aseptic techniques. Collect and document patient health data, perform point-of-care testing, and review lab information and medication regimens for patients and families. Identify and report patient problems, deviations from outcomes, and ensure informed consent for all indicated procedures. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to advocate for patient autonomy and deliver care that respects patient diversity and dignity.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited Practical Nursing program
- Current NYS Licensure as a Practical Nurse or valid interim permit
- BLS certification within 6 months of hire date
- Practices within the New York State-defined LPN scope of practice
- Heavy Work - Exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects
- Occasional balancing, crouching, kneeling
- Frequent typing/clerical/dexterity, grasping, hearing, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, seeing/monitor/computer use, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity (color, depth, perception), walking, fit testing
