Job Summary
Provide holistic nursing care to incarcerated patients under the direction of Registered Nurses and medical staff, responding to physical and behavioral health needs. Maintain appropriate scope of practice while working within the Illinois Department of Corrections system at the Illinois River Correctional Center. Complete required certifications, including CPR, and obtain necessary security clearances, drug screens, and criminal background checks. Work day shifts of 40 hours weekly, rotating between 2-8 hour and 2-12 hour blocks from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. or 7 p.m.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license or ability to obtain one
- Appropriate and active certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
- Day shift availability
- 40 hours a week availability
- 7a-3p/7a-7p shift availability
- 2 -8hr shift availability
- 2 -12 hr shift availability
