Job Summary
Licensed Practical Nurse position (3 pm to 11 pm) providing direct, individualized nursing care to residents under the supervision of the Director of Resident Care. Responsibilities include implementing physician and DRC plans of care, accurate MAR documentation, resident assessments and communications with families, administering medications per orders, preparing incident/accident reports, ensuring a safe environment, and supervising associates and resources to meet resident needs. Requires completion of an accredited LPN/LVN program, active state licensure, dementia-aligned training, and at least 1 year of nursing experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting; proficiency with documentation and MS Office is preferred. Must pass required background screening for Florida facilities and demonstrate strong teamwork, patient safety, and compassionate care for senior residents.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from an accredited LPN/LVN program and currently registered in the state
- Must obtain valid Continuing Education credits as required by the state
- Training in Alzheimer and Dementia with focus on Validation Therapy
- Minimum of one (1) year nursing experience in a health care facility
- Experience in a long term care community and/or geriatric nursing facility preferred
- Experience in emergency care and first-aid
- Able to communicate effectively with management, associates, residents, family members, and outside contacts
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook software preferred
- Able to make independent decisions
- Must possess a passion to work with and around senior citizens
- Background Screening Requirement in Florida
