Job Summary
Assist licensed physical therapists with patient evaluations, treatments, and progress assessments under supervision; implement treatment plans under the supervision of a physical therapist, utilizing various techniques and modalities; monitor and report patient progress to therapists and other healthcare team members; develop rapport with patients, families, and caregivers to ensure a positive and supportive environment; maintain accurate and detailed records of patient treatment and progress; participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with industry trends and best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Physical Therapist Assistant Studies or related field
- Completion of a Physical Therapist Assistant program approved by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education
- Current certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in the state of Alabama
- Ability to lift, transfer, and move patients as needed
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
