Job Summary
Direct and administer physical therapy treatment regimens to manage pain and restore functional ability, overseeing Physical Therapy Assistants and conducting thorough evaluations of patients using diagnostic tools. Examine home environments to promote independence, deliver services per referring physician protocols, and prepare accurate clinical records including progress notes and discharge summaries. Engage in interdisciplinary team meetings to collaborate on treatment plans and educate patients on safe equipment use. This role serves patients with musculoskeletal injuries, post-surgical recovery, and neurological disorders within a state-of-the-art Fairfax hospital setting.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
- Possess a valid and active Physical Therapist license in the state of Virginia.
- No history of sanctions or disciplinary action against your professional license.
- Demonstrated proficiency in multiple manual therapy techniques and the ability to design successful exercise programs tailored to individual patient needs.
- Familiar with electronic medical record (EMR) systems, including Web PT, for effective documentation and communication.
- A deep understanding of contemporary physical therapy modalities, supported by evidence-based practice and research.
Desired Qualifications
- Two or more years of clinical experience in a hospital or outpatient therapy setting.
- Experience in home health care or rehabilitation services.
