Job Summary

Assess students using standardized evaluations and clinical observations to develop individualized therapy programs that enhance academic access and activity participation. Implement comprehensive therapeutic strategies addressing musculoskeletal and neuromuscular impairments through exercises, manual therapy, and classroom adaptations. Collaborate with staff and caregivers to train on carryover techniques and ensure alignment of plans across home and school environments. Document screenings, treatment plans, and quarterly progress reports while recommending adaptive equipment and assistive technology. This full-time, year-round role supports autistic students with complex needs within a day and boarding school setting in Westchester County.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited Physical Therapy program
  • Minimum of 1 year of pediatric experience working with students on the autism spectrum or with developmental disabilities
  • Thorough knowledge of physical therapy principles and application in educational settings
  • Experience with a variety of evaluation tools and therapeutic/adaptive equipment
  • Ability to assess, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to train others in therapeutic carryover techniques
  • Ability to prioritize, stay organized, and meet deadlines
  • Full-time, year round position availability
