Job Summary
PTA provides direct rehabilitation care to patients under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist in a post-acute care facility. Responsible for following established physical therapy treatment plans, charting accurately and timely, using therapy software, and maintaining high standards of patient service. Collaborates with an interdisciplinary team, supports patient and family communication, adheres to laws and Life Care policies, ensures safety and confidentiality, and participates in departmental programs and compliance training.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited program in physical therapy (ASPT)
- Currently registered/licensed in applicable State; active license in good standing
- One year experience preferred; new grads welcome to apply
- CPR certification upon hire or during orientation; CPR certification must remain current during employment
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
- Demonstrate knowledge of post-acute care facility laws, regulations, and guidelines
- Follow physical therapy treatment plans under supervision of PT
- Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct
- Chart appropriately and timely; utilize therapy software
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team
- Demonstrate good body mechanics; safety and sanitation
- Participate in community health matters/projects as appropriate
