Job Summary
Administer physical therapy services as directed by licensed physical therapists, adhering to prescribed treatment plans to promote patient recovery. Treat patients to manage pain and enhance function through therapeutic exercises, active and passive range of motion, gait training, and transfers. Employ physical agents such as heat, cold, and ultrasound, while monitoring patient responses and communicating condition changes to supervising PTs. Instruct patients on mobility aid use and maintain accurate clinical documentation. Work Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM in a hospital setting in Springfield, Illinois. Requires an Associate's degree in physical therapy, state licensure, and current CPR certification.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of an accredited physical therapy assistant program leading to an Associate's degree in an applicable science field approved by the American Physical Therapy Association, Inc.
- Active certification or licensure in accordance with state laws and regulations
- Current CPR certification
- A valid driver's license
- Access to a reliable and insured vehicle for commuting purposes
Desired Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
- Experience in an outpatient or inpatient rehabilitation setting
- Experience within hospital environments
