Job Summary
Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions, and proper administration. Ensure dispensed medicines are correctly supplied and labeled, and supervise the preparation of any medicines. Make recommendations for therapy changes to physicians and client facility staff when necessary. Maintain customers' databases including medical history and clinical data, while investigating and resolving medication-related queries. Communicate with facilities nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare team members regarding these queries. Maintain a register of controlled drugs for legal and stock control purposes, ensuring proper security conditions for all medications. Perform on-call duties when required. Licensed Pharmacist in the State of Georgia with Long Term Care experience preferred.
