Job Summary
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to prevent disability, alleviate pain, and restore function for patients recovering from surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic conditions. Conduct comprehensive evaluations using diagnostic tests to assess muscle, joint, and functional capabilities, while administering therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, traction, and massage tailored to client needs. Oversee and mentor physical therapy assistants to ensure adherence to care plans, monitor patient progress, and communicate adjustments to medical staff and families. Prepare detailed clinical records including evaluations and discharge summaries in compliance with legal standards, and evaluate home environments to recommend modifications for independence. Engage in continuous education to maintain expertise in orthopedic physical therapy best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Current Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution
- Valid state license to practice physical therapy in Florida
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
- Proficient in clinical documentation and computer skills necessary for maintaining accurate patient records
Desired Qualifications
- A minimum of two years of experience in orthopedic physical therapy
- Experience working with diverse patient populations and familiarity with community resources
- Previous involvement in developing and implementing therapeutic interventions
