Job Summary
Administer and document medications during assigned passes, monitor student health status, and respond to health concerns during residential and evening shifts. Conduct routine health assessments including vital signs, weights, and screenings, while prioritizing work based on student needs and safety. Prepare medications within scope of practice, manage inventory of medical supplies and first aid kits, and coordinate transportation to appointments. Accurately document all care and interventions in the electronic health record, maintain confidentiality, and collaborate with nursing staff and program leadership to support continuity of care. Requires current LNA or EMT certification, ability to walk rugged terrain, and experience working with children in residential settings.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in human services or a related field
- Current Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification
- Ability to walk the rugged terrain of the NH campus, an active wooded setting
- Ability to bend, hold and lift
- Maintains current CPR & /First Aid certification
- Ability to work with population of children in residential treatment
- Friendly and professional bedside manner
- Multi-tasking skills
- Effective oral, written, and reading communication skills
- Understanding of legal implications of patient care
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience working with children in a childcare, residential, educational, or therapeutic setting
Desired Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Knowledge of relevant nursing care
