Job Summary
Determine donor eligibility through informed consent, medical history interviews, and physical examinations while managing adverse events and unsuitable test results. Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs, coordinate emergency transport, and refer medical or technical issues to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs. Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs, manage employee incidents, and act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized. Review laboratory test results including Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE) and maintain environmental, health, and safety compliance. This role supports plasma center operations at BioLife Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda, where collected plasma becomes life-changing medicines.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
- Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
