Job Summary
Conduct direct patient care under RN supervision, including assisting with activities of daily living, obtaining vital signs, and managing transfers and ambulation. Respond promptly to call lights and document all care provided accurately. Observe patient conditions, report changes to licensed staff, and maintain a safe environment using infection prevention protocols. Support admissions, transfers, and discharges by preparing rooms and ensuring patient comfort. Collaborate effectively with nurses, physicians, and therapists while identifying and reporting hazards. Maintain required certifications and complete mandatory education. Work rotating shifts in the Progressive Care Unit, providing care to patients requiring medical-surgical and telemetry levels of care.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Current Vermont Nursing Assistant licensure
- Current BLS healthcare provider status
- OSHA Category I certification
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)
- Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
- Ability to adjust focus
- Ability to hear calls
- Ability to hear instructions from physician/department staff/others
