Job Summary
Part-time Licensed Mental Health Therapist (IIC) providing in-home, center-based and telehealth therapy for youth with mental health disorders in Northern New Jersey. Responsibilities include individual and group therapy, in-home and center-based sessions, telehealth, bio-psycho-social assessments, coping/anger management and reducing risk behaviors, collaborating with the Child Family Treatment Team, documenting intake/treatment plans/notes within required time frames, and attending monthly meetings. Requires a master’s degree in a related behavioral health field and an active New Jersey license (LCSW/LPC/LMFT/LAC/LSW/LFT). Must be available 6–10 hours per week after-school (12pm–8pm) with a minimum caseload of 2–3 clients for part-time staff; driving license and ability to pass background checks and drug screen are required. State reciprocity considered; visa sponsorship (H-1B) not offered. Training in trauma counseling and crisis intervention preferred; experience with CBT/REBT/Gestalt/DBT and DSM-V usage for assessments; familiarity with treatment planning, progress notes and intake documentation. Located in Elizabeth, NJ.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Family Therapy, or related behavioral health field
- Active license in New Jersey (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LAC, LSW, LFT); candidates with out-of-state licenses may be considered if reciprocity applies
- Has Clinical Mental Health Trauma Counseling Training
- Has some training or willing to complete Crisis Intervention Training
- Has post-internship field experience working with youth with mental health disorders with clinical experience
- Has experience with creating treatment planning, treatment goals setting, progress notes, and initial assessments
- Has experience in various counseling approaches: CBT, REBT, Gestalt, DBT, and Trauma Response
- Knows how to use the DSM-V for Assessments and Diagnosis
- Must be available for a minimum 6-10 hours per week during after-school hours of 12noon through 8pm. Weekend flexibility is a plus.
- Must maintain a minimum caseload of 2–3 clients for part-time staff
- Must have experience providing positive behavior supports.
- Must have prior experience working with children ages 3-20, and working with children with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) is a plus.
- Valid New Jersey Driver’s License
- Must pass all state and federal background checks
- A pre-employment, post conditional job offer drug screen is required for this role.
