Job Summary
Part-time Licensed Mental Health Therapist (IIC) delivering in-home and center-based therapy for youth in Northern New Jersey. Responsibilities include individual in-home therapy, group therapy, telehealth, and outpatient center sessions; bios-psycho-social assessments; coping, social skills, and anger management; reducing SIB/physical aggression; improving caregiver/youth decision-making; collaboration with the Child Family Treatment Team; timely documentation (intake, treatment plan, DAP notes); attending monthly meetings; training for assessments as needed. Requires Master’s degree and NJ licensure (LCSW/LPC/LMFT/LAC/LSW/LFT), trauma and crisis intervention training, post-internship clinical experience with youth, knowledge of DSM-V, and a minimum 6–10 weekly hours post-school hours (12–8pm); caseload of 2–3; background checks and drug screen; ability to work without visa sponsorship; NJ residency near service areas; locations include Elizabeth, NJ. Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Family Therapy, or related behavioral health field
- Active license in New Jersey (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LAC, LSW, LFT) or out-of-state license with reciprocity
- Clinical Mental Health Trauma Counseling Training
- Crisis Intervention Training or willingness to complete
- Post-internship field experience with youth with mental health disorders
- Experience creating treatment plans, treatment goals, progress notes, initial assessments
- Experience with multiple counseling approaches: CBT, REBT, Gestalt, DBT, Trauma-Informed approaches
- Ability to use DSM-V for assessments and diagnoses
- Availability for 6-10 hours per week during after-school hours (12pm-8pm); weekend flexibility a plus
- Must maintain a minimum caseload of 2–3 clients for part-time role
- Experience with positive behavior supports
- Experience with children ages 3-20; I/DD experience a plus
- Valid New Jersey Driver’s License
- Must pass state and federal background checks
- Pre-employment drug screen required
