Job Summary
Licensed Mental Health Therapist (IIC) needed in Northern New Jersey for Part-time work providing in-home, center-based, and telehealth services to youth. Responsibilities include individual and group therapy, bio-psycho-social assessments, coping and social skills work, anger management, reducing risk behaviors, and collaborating with the Child Family Treatment Team. Role requires documentation (intake, treatment plans, notes), monthly meetings, and willingness to train for assessments. Must hold a master’s degree and an active NJ license (LCSW/LPC/LMFT/LAC/LSW/LFT) with trauma counseling training and crisis intervention training, plus experience with CBT/REBT/Gestalt/DBT and using DSM-V for assessments. Availability of 6-10 hours/week after-school (12pm-8pm) with a minimum caseload of 2–3 clients for part-time staff; 25–30 minute proximity to service areas in NJ; driving may be needed for in-home visits. Required Qualifications
- Must have a master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Family Therapy, or related behavioral health field
- Active license in New Jersey (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LAC, LSW, LFT); candidates with out-of-state licenses may be considered if reciprocity applies
- Has Clinical Mental Health Trauma Counseling Training
- Has some training or willing to complete Crisis Intervention Training
- Has post-internship field experience working with youth with mental health disorders with clinical experience
- Has experience with creating treatment planning, treatment goals setting, progress notes, and initial assessments
- Has experience in various counseling approaches: CBT, REBT, Gestalt, DBT, and Trauma Response
- Knows how to use the DSM-V for Assessments and Diagnosis
- Must be available for a minimum 6-10 hours per week during after-school hours of 12noon through 8pm. Weekend flexibility is a plus.
- Must maintain a minimum caseload of 2–3 clients for part-time staff
- Must have experience providing positive behavior supports.
- Must have prior experience working with children ages 3-20, and working with children with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) is a plus.
- Valid New Jersey Driver’s License
- Must pass all state and federal background checks
- A pre-employment, post conditional job offer drug screen is required for this role.
