Job Summary
Part-time Licensed Mental Health Therapist (IIC) in Northern New Jersey to provide in-home, center-based, and telehealth therapy for youth with mental health disorders. Responsibilities include individual in-home therapy, group therapy, telehealth therapy, and center sessions; conducting bio-psycho-social assessments when trained; delivering coping and social skills, anger management, and reduction of risk behaviors; supporting decision-making for youth and caretakers; collaborating with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals; completing intake, treatment plans, DAP notes, and other required documentation; attending monthly meetings; training for or performing bio-psycho-social assessments; and maintaining a weekly minimum caseload. Requirements include a master’s degree in a related field, trauma and crisis intervention training, post-internship experience with youth, experience with various counseling approaches (CBT, REBT, Gestalt, DBT, Trauma), DSM-V knowledge, NJ driver’s license, ability to pass background checks and drug screen, and eligibility to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship. Compensation ranges from $60 to $75 per hour and includes benefits and professional growth opportunities. The role is based in Kearny, NJ with services across Northern New Jersey, including in-home, center-based, and telehealth delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Family Therapy, or related fields such as LSW, LAC, LFT
- Clinical Mental Health Trauma Counseling Training
- Crisis Intervention Training (training or willing to complete)
- Post-internship field experience with youth with mental health disorders
- Experience creating treatment planning, treatment goals, progress notes, and initial assessments
- Experience in counseling approaches: CBT, REBT, Gestalt, DBT, Trauma Response
- Knowledge of DSM-V for Assessments and Diagnosis
- Available for 6-10 hours per week during after-school hours (12noon–8pm); weekend flexibility a plus
- Minimum caseload of 2–3 clients for part-time staff
- Experience with positive behavior supports
- Experience with children ages 3-20; I/DD experience a plus
- Valid New Jersey Driver’s License
- Must pass state and federal background checks
- Pre-employment drug screen
- Resume + copies of master’s degree and NJ license/certification
